On May 29, 2013, Frances Jean (Heller) Gibbs entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father at Bowling Green Manor.
She was born May 2, 1932, in Waterville, Ohio to the late Rev. Carl W. Heller and Dorothy Paradine (Langford) Heller. Her mother passed away when Fran was very young, and she was raised by her father and step-mother, the late LoDema (Starkweather) Heller.
Fran, as she was affectionately called, was united in marriage to Thomas Tracy Gibbs on August 23, 1952, in a ceremony officiated by her father at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Haskins, Ohio. They attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church with their three children before moving to Bowling Green.
Fran was active in many organizations through the years. She was a Girl Scout Leader and an active member of the Fireman's Auxiliary in Haskins, Ohio. As a Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Lodge in Waterville, Ohio, she was an Advisor in Rainbow Girls - Maumee, Ohio.
She was a graduate of Waterville High School and the Bowling Green School of Licensed Practical Nursing. She enjoyed her LPN career at Wood County Hospital as an LPN for 20 years before retiring in 1994.
Fran is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Tom; their children: Diana "Dee" (Tim) Niles, Swanton; Terri (Mark) Henning, Bowling Green; and Richard (Jody) Gibbs, Lexington, KY. They have been blessed with grandchildren: Miranda (Joe) Cox, Lauren Henning, Collin Henning, Nicole Gibbs, and Christian Gibbs; and great-grandchildren: Tierra Cox, Emma Cox, Branden Cox, and Kara Cox.
Fran was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Marie Gibbs, and a grandson, Casey.
She is also survived by her brother, William Richard Heller and was preceded in death by a sister, Faith Joy Heller.
Fran's family would like to express their appreciation to the entire Care Team at Bowling Green Manor and Thomas "Wojo" Wojciechowski for their family oriented compassionate care.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 until the time of service at 12 noon at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, Tontogany, OH, with Pastor Jennifer Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory may be made to the Wood County Humane Society, 801 Van Camp Road, Bowling Green, OH 43402.
