Evelyn Kay Hathaway, 67, of Deshler, Ohio, died Monday afternoon, August 12, 2013 at University of Toledo Medical Center.
She was born July 20, 1946 in Hatton, Ohio to the late Raymond Leimgruber and Kathleen (Hunt) Leimgruber-Whitticar.
Evelyn was a 1965 graduate of McComb High School.
On December 24, 1966 she married Duane Hathaway, and they shared over 46 years together.
Her and her husband Duane enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in Ft. Meade, Florida. Together they were dedicated Beekeepers. She was a member of the American Beekeeping Federation and Northwest Ohio Beekeepers Association. She was a doll collector and devoted Tony Stewart fan.
She was a loving wife, mother and adoring grandmother of five grandchildren. They will remember her for her kind and honest heart, the fun they had playing rummy together and her heroism during the tornado of 1983.
She is survived by husband, Duane; children, Bryan (Jody) Hathaway, Hamler, Ohio; Lisa Hathaway, Waco, Texas; Jeffrey (Lisa) Hathaway, Deshler; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Joshua, Seth, Becca, Molly; sisters, Deborah (Robert) Fackler, Custar, Ohio and Linda Van Scoder, Hoytville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond Leimgruber, Jr.; Roger Leimgruber; and half sister, Deanna Ackerman.
Funeral services are 11 a.m., Friday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Pastor James Erven officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
