Eugene "Gene" Schnitker, age 70, of Luckey, OH passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at
Otterbein Portage Valley Retirement Village, Pemberville, OH.
He was born on May 11, 1943 in Woodville, OH, to Norman and Ruth (Bringman) Schnitker.
For over 20 years Gene was a truck driver for Abke Trucking, Pemberville, OH. After retiring he worked at
Tall Timbers Campground, Port Clinton, OH.
In his spare time he was an avid OSU Buckeye fan, enjoyed camping, driving his golf cart, being outside
and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Gene was married to Kathy (Hansen) Schnitker for 31 years, and is also survived by children: Carol (Paul)
Dodd of Luckey, Jody (Harry) Levan of Pine Grove, PA, Robert (Robyn) Schnitker of Pemberville, Jason
(Lisa) Bolt of Mt. Sterling, OH, Dannelle (Rob) Sutton of Pemberville; grandchildren: Christopher Dodd,
Curtis (Jennifer) Dodd, Courtney (Travis) Jones, Shannon (Mike) Miller, Emily (Marie) Miller, Kate
(Chris) Miller, Elly Schnitker, Hannah Schnitker, Whitney (Jordan) Levan, Wade (Karissa) Levan, Cole
Bolt, Hunter Bolt, Gage Bolt, Zach (Raquel) Bolt, Robbie Sutton, Allison Sutton, Hunter Sutton, Hannah
Sutton, Piper Sutton; five great-grandchildren; brother: Ron (Barb) Schnitker of Luckey; nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Norman and Ruth Schnitker.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Marsh
Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH, where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday,
February 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Peter Johnston.
Interment will be in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey, OH.
There will be a bereavement luncheon served at the Troy-Webster American Legion Post #240, Luckey, OH,
immediately following the cemetery committal services.
