Elva Marie Jacobs, 94, of Pemberville, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2009, at Otterbein/Portage Valley Retirement Community.
She was born in Woodville, Ohio on January 15, 1915, a daughter of the late Bert and Lena Younker Young.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Virgil Young and a sister, Margie.
On November 20, 1965 in Luckey, Ohio, she married Samuel Jacobs and he preceded her in death on February 7, 1973.
Survivors include a stepson, John (Nancy) Jacobs of Luckey; stepdaughter, Grace (William) Stinchcomb. Lemoyne; a brother, Wayne (Lois) Young of Luckey and a sister-in-law, Rose Young of Ridgewood, New Jersey.
She was a homemaker and a sales clerk for Kreske in Toledo.
She was the oldest member of Salem Lutheran Church and was a member of the Dorcas Circle and Unit 240 of the Luckey American Legion.
Pastor Don Brewer officiates a funeral at Salem Lutheran Church on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 12:30 p.m., where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Burial will take place in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Lutheran Church or the Otterbein/Portage Valley Retirement Village.
