Earl A. Kreais

Earl A. Kreais, 83, of Fostoria, passed away at 3:41 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Mercy St. Vincent’s
Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born December 7, 1930 in Wayne to the late August M. and Ada L. (Wade) Kreais. He married Rosella
A. Frank on October 7, 1961 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tiffin, and she survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are children, Patricia A. (Dean Stell) Kreais, Fostoria, Kenneth E. (Connie) Kreais,
Findlay, Ronald L. Kreais, Fostoria, Kevin M. (Kimberly) Kreais, Fostoria, Gary J. (Jenny) Kreais,
Fostoria; son-in-law, William Scherger, New Riegel; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a
sister, Iva Kieffer, Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Scherger; five brothers, Sylvester, Paul and Ralph Kreais
and John and Glenn at infancy; and a sister, Ada Brossia-Abel.
Earl was a lifelong Wood and Seneca County farmer, and had also been a job setter at the former Excello,
Fostoria.
He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, a Third Degree Knight of Columbus of Council #1197, a
Fourth Degree member of Fr. Raymond Kirsch Assembly #845, all of Fostoria.
He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the New Riegel American Legion Post
#354 and the American Legion 40/8.
Earl lived for his faith and family. He was a hard worker who enjoyed watching and spending time at the
children and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
Visitation is Friday, July 25, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 242 W. Tiffin
St., Fostoria, where a Christian Wake service will be held at 3:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wendelin Catholic Church where a Rosary will be
prayed at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery, New Riegel, where the New Riegel American Legion will
provide military honors.
Memorials are suggested to St. Wendelin Church and School.
