Dorothy M. Schmeltz, age 80, of Pemberville, OH, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Eleanor
Jennings, in Rossford, OH.
She was born on September 12, 1933 in Iliff, CO to Alex and Catherine (Sewald) Schivelbein. On May 9,
1953 she married Rae Schmeltz in Perrysburg, OH and he survives.
After 30 years she retired in 1994 as a longtime employee for the Farmers Savings Bank.
Her memberships included: St. Rose Catholic Church, Perrysburg, OH, Alter and Rosary Society, C.H.R.P. at
St. Rose, Troy-Webster American Legion Auxiliary Unit #240, Luckey, OH, Sugar Creek Golf Course, BUNCO
club and Friends of Otterbein Portage Valley.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years: Rae, children: Jay Schmeltz of Toledo, Jeffry
(Bernice) Schmeltz of Pemberville, John (Bernadette) Schmeltz of Pemberville, James (Tammy) Schmeltz of
Perrysburg, Debra (Steven) Leuck of Pemberville, grandchildren: Nicholas, Jacob, Alexa, Tyler, Jamie,
Garrett, Meghan, brothers: Leo, Alex and Robert Schivelbein, sisters: Alice Getz, Kathy Ninke and
Frances Alexander.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Marsh
Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Monday,
January 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. from St. Rose Catholic Church, Perrysburg, OH, where there will be
additional visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey,
OH. There will be a bereavement luncheon served at the Troy-Webster American Legion Post #240, Luckey
immediately following the cemetery committal services.
