Devin James Woodward, 9, of Grand Rapids, OH, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 as a result of drowning.
He was born on December 22, 2003 in Fremont, OH, the son of Kelly (Woodward) Marquez.
Devin attended Otsego Elementary School where he would have entered the fourth grade in the fall. He was a typical boy who enjoyed fishing, riding his bike, listening to music, tinkering and spending time with his grandma and grandpa.
Devin is survived by his mother and step father, Kelly and Dario Marquez, Grand Rapids, OH; siblings, Justin and Dillon Woodward; grandparents, Rick and Helen Woodward, Lindsey, OH; aunt, Melissa Woodward, Port Clinton, OH; uncle, Derrick Woodward, Lindsey, OH; great-grandparents, Richard and Thelma Woodward, Republic, OH; cousins, Trinity Mayfield and Travis Boltz; special teachers, Karen Hertsberg, Gretchen Seeger and Joan Coates; numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Elmer and Ilajean Elkins, great-great-grandmother, Helen Rohm; great-uncles, Larry and Lee Elkins; great-great-grandparents, Hardy and Cynthia Mullins.
Visitation: Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH.
Service: Wednesday, July 24, 2013, 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Junior Kerns officiating.
Burial: Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Adams Twp, OH
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to a Benefit Fund for Devin Woodward at Commodore Perry Federal Credit Union and Fremont Federal Credit Union.
