Delia Marie Crozier Bentley, better known as Deedie, the youngest of three children born to Walter and
Meme (Showman) Crozier of Liberty Center, died peacefully at the Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green
on New Year’s Eve day with family by her side.
Deedie spent all her life devoted to family and the love of music. She worked as a line-type for many
different newspapers in Ohio including papers in Whitehouse, Hamilton, Middletown and Cincinnati,
retiring in 1977.
Her passion was playing the piano and organ and did so for many years professionally in a band called the
Sunshine Five with immediate and extended family members, although her fondest memories were when the
family got together for jam sessions. She often recalled all the dances, mostly square dances, they
played in Delta, Swanton, Whitehouse, and Grand Rapids and oh the stories she told!
She also was known as a top choice for an organist in the state as she played for many weddings,
churches, and different organizations she was affiliated with including the Eastern Stars and the
Rebekah Lodge.
Another passion of Deedie’s was tatting, a lost art, and making family members quilts.
Deedie was preceded in death by both of her parents, her brother, Charlie Crozier and her sister,
Vardinique North, and her only daughter Darla Banks.
She is survived by her four grandchildren, Wendy King, Jeff Bolley, Bruce and Kim Bolley (Adamski), Mike
and Tammy Chambers (Bolley); great-grandchildren, David King, Jason and Christy Bolley, Sydney Ganshow;
and one great-great-grandchild Autumn Miller.
Grandma will be dearly missed by all as anyone who ever met her could not help but like her. She would
also like to thank all the staff at the Grand Rapids care center for taking such good care of her and
making such good food!
Visitation will begin Monday, January 6, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 noon
at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, Whitehouse, OH.

individuals affected with autism, a place that was very near and dear to her heart.
