Darwin Longstreet, a lifelong resident of Waterville, Ohio, died quietly in his home on his 90th birthday, Wednesday, October 23, 2013.
Darwin was a veteran of WWII as a member of the Army/Air Force. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Waterville, Wakeman Masonic Lodge, a past member of the Waterville Fireman's Association and the Waterville American Legion, of which he was a four-time Past Commander.
He was employed by Johns Manville for over 30 years.
He leaves behind his loving wife Mary, daughter, Kandy Duncan (John Capwell), and sons, Dennis (Debra), and James. He also was blessed with six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. He also is survived by his brothers, Gerald (Betty) and Leonard (Doretta) and sister Phyllis (Dale) Johnston, plus numerous friends, too many to count.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey C. and Opal A. Longstreet, plus sister, Eleanor Wittes.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd., Waterville, OH. Funeral Services will be Monday, October 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Waterville.
