Darley Rose Pickerel, 83, of Bowling Green, OH died Friday, June 13, 2014 in her home. She was born in
Deerfield, MI on October 17, 1930 to Lloyd F. and Leona M. (Bateson) Morris. Darley was first married
for 28 years to Garold Thompson, Sr., and then was married on January 17, 1981 in Rossford to James E.
Pickerel who
preceded her in death on May 31, 2010.
She was a lifetime member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dowling, OH and was a choir member for
20 years at All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford, where she was married.
She worked as a cook at Union Elementary School in Dowling, the Marathon Special Products in Bowling
Green, retired from Goodyear in Luckey, OH and was a former
cashier at the Tanglewood Golf Course in Perrysburg. Her interests included enjoying her family,
crocheting afghans, quilting for World Relief, traveling, ballroom dancing and roller skating.
She is survived by her children, Garold (Jan) Thompson, Melany (Richard) Wyckoff, Terry (Mary) Thompson,
Thomas (Elaine) Pickerel, Diane Stevenson, Kathy (Alan) LaCourse, Lisa (Douglas) Rhodes, and James
(Linda) Pickerel; 29 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren; sister, Karen Witzler.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, A.J. LaCourse, and brothers, Robert and Doren Morris.
Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary
St., Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133). Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014 in
Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 22552 Carter Rd., Bowling Green, OH 44302 with Pastor Tom Zulick
officiating. Burial will follow in New Belleville Ridge Cemetery.
