Dan-DeStefano-obit-picDaniel L. "Danny" DeStefano, 61, of Corry, PA, formerly of Shady Plain, Kiski Township, Armstrong County, PA, died on Sunday (July 22, 2012) in Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH.
Born on January 3, 1951 in Braddock to the late Carmen M. DeStefano and Elizabeth "Betty" I. (O'Toole) DeStefano, Danny lived in Corry for the past 30 years.
Mr. DeStefano operated the DeStefano Dairy Farm in Shady Plain for several years. He was the owner and operator of D & D Enterprises, a successful natural gas line construction company based in Ohio where he was a pipe liner for the past 25 years. Danny was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Apollo. He was a Free and Accepted Mason and a graduate of Elders-Ridge High School, Class of 1969.
Danny's generous life touched many people and he will be greatly missed.
He enjoyed riding quads and was also a car enthusiast. Danny enjoyed his cat Bubby.
Mr. DeStefano was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth I. (O'Toole) DeStefano of Portage, PA. sister, Karen A. DeStefano of Shady Plain, sister, Rosemary (Samuel) Ross of Spring Church, brother, Mark M. (Diane) DeStefano of Laurel MD, sister, Carmen E. (Dan) Rummel of New Florence, PA, sister, Jeanine M. (David) Decker of Portage PA, sister, Lisa J. Marcy of Kentucky and sister, Teresa R. DeStefano of Nantes, France, as well as nephews, Jonathan, Travis & Tyler and nieces, Amy, Samantha, Nichole and Leah.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 8:00-10:00AM in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave. Apollo, PA 15613. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Apollo at 10:30 AM with Father John Euker as celebrant. A celebration of Danny's life will follow at the Apollo Sportsmen's Club.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made in Danny's name to the American Diabetes Association 300 Penn Center Blvd. Suite 602 Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
