Cynthia Jane Witte, age, 92, formerly of Pemberville, OH, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30,
2013 at Bowling Green Manor, Bowling Green, OH, where she had been a resident for five years.
She was born on February 17, 1921 in Cleveland, OH to Dr. Charles and Margaret (Stone) Otis.
After graduating from Bowling Green High School she attended BGSU and received degrees in Home Economics
and Education. Cynthia worked at Western Union and served her country proudly while enlisted in the
WAACS.
On January 12, 1947 she married James W. Witte in Bowling Green and he preceded her in death on March 21,
1995.
Her memberships included: the First Presbyterian Church of Bowling Green, Woodbine Chapter of Eastern
Star and Pemberville American Legion Auxiliary Freedom Post #183.
In her spare time she enjoyed the outdoors, camping trips with her parents, reading and classical music,
particularly opera.
Surviving Cynthia is her daughter: Karen of Bowling Green, grandchildren: Eric, Alex, Kim Witte, all of
Maumee, nephews: James Otis Jr. of Maumee, Jeff Witte of Toledo, nieces: Debbie McCrandall and Randa
Sweet both of Toledo, daughter-in-law: Jodi Witte of Rockton, IL and sister-in-law: Dorothy Otis of
Maumee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: James, son: Jack Witte and brother: James Otis.
As per Cynthia’s wishes there will be no visitation nor services.
Arrangements are being handled by the Marsh Funeral Home, Pemberville, OH. The family deeply appreciates
the wonderful care given to Cynthia by the staff and personnel at Bowling Green Manor.
