Claire H. Welling, age 85, formerly of Bowling Green, OH, most recently of Sandusky, OH, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, OH.
He was born on August 20, 1927 in Dunbridge, OH, to Harvey and Jennie (Seifert) Welling. On March 28, 1948 he married Helen Hahn in Scotch Ridge, OH and she preceded him in death on April 22, 1998.
Claire was a lifelong farmer. His memberships included: the former Scotch Ridge United Presbyterian Church, Scotch Ridge, OH, where he was church organist, and a member of the Jolly Rogers Farm Bureau Council.
Claire is survived by his children: Jan (Roger) Sarver of Bowling Green, OH; Roger (Lauren) Welling of Sheffield Village, OH; grandchildren: Jennie (Joe) Reed of Grand Rapids, MI; Ben (Katie) Sarver of Terre Haute, IN; Chuck (Jessica) Welling of Amherst, OH; and great-grandchildren: Oliver Reed, Everett Thomas and Eleanor Sarver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Helen and sister: Doris Frawley.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 28, 2013 from  2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH, where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Miller. Interment will be in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey.
There will be a bereavement luncheon served at the First United Presbyterian Church of Pemberville immediately following the cemetery committal services.
Considerations for memorial contributions are: First United Presbyterian Church of Pemberville; Stein Hospice of Sandusky, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870; or the charity of the donor’s choice.
