Chloetta (Swartz) O’Connell passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on June 9th, 2014.
She was born in Bradner, Ohio to Omer and Anona Swartz on Dec 4th, 1939.
She graduated from Montgomery Local School in 1957 and went on to graduate from Nursing School in 1961.
She married Gerald O’Connell in 1960.
Her younger years were spent playing piano and accordion which she enjoyed immensely. She also enjoyed
vacationing at the family cottage in Devils Lake, MI, where she skied, enjoyed the outdoors, and chased
her five children around all day.
She worked at Goodyear in Luckey, Oh, and spent the last 21 years working at the Holiday Inn French
Quarters in Perrysburg, OH.
After "finally" retiring she enjoyed numerous vacations with her family. "Chloe," as
everyone knew her, was a very caring and loving mother, wife, grandmother, and great-granny. She enjoyed
people and was a wonderful friend to the many who had the pleasure of being in her life.
She was preceded in death by her son Keith O’Connell, daughter Deb Diaz, and son-in-law Brian Green.
She is survived by her three children Daniel (Rebecca) O’Connell, Joni O’Connell, and Jodi Green, 12
grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and her beloved cats Bummer and Midnight.
She will be greatly missed by all.
There will be a memorial service for friends and family at the Holiday Inn French Quarters on Saturday,
June 21st, at 12 p.m. in the Depot Room 1.
