Charles "Chuck" F. Lawson, 83, of North Baltimore, died at 2:42 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2013, at Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore.
He was born on May 8, 1930, in Van Wert County to the late Leo and Pauline Lawson. He married Mary F. (Deerwester) Lawson on June 20, 1953.
Surviving is a son, Robert Leo Lawson of Bowling Green; a sister, Patricia (Daniel) McMahan of Monroe, Michigan; a sister, Linda Blake of Akins, South Carolina; brother-in-law William "Bill" (Miriam) Deerwester of Findlay.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lawson; daughter, Lisa Lawson; brother, Leo Lawson; and sister, Joann Blake.
He looked forward to being reunited with family members that had passed before him, especially his wife and daughter. He believed in Jesus as his Lord and Savior and therefore, was the Chaplain at the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539 for 18 years.
Chuck was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of St. James United Methodist Church in North Baltimore. He had worked for Buckeye Pipeline Company.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, with Reverend Rick Adams officiating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore, where full military rites will be conducted by the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made St. James United Methodist Church, North Baltimore.
