Cecilia Topik, 97 1/2, of Perrysburg, Ohio, formerly of Walbridge, passed away on November 12, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born on March 7, 1916 in Detroit, Michigan to Ignatius and Alexandria (Grzymkowski) Zeszotarski. She married Frank Topik on September 4, 1937.
Cecilia was a long time member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg, where she was active in the group Women of Faith and volunteered in the church cafeteria. She was also a cafeteria manager at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Walbridge for several years before retiring in 1983. Cecilia enjoyed crocheting hats for cancer patients, cooking Polish dishes and baking coffee cakes. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Tanglewood Country Club. She even had a hole in one at the age of 80, on the 8th of the month, on the 8th hole over a quarry at Tanglewood C.C.
Cecilia is survived by her loving children, Daniel (Suzette) Topik of Englewood, MO, George Topik of Sarasota, FL, Connie (Michael) Barrett of Northwood, OH, Patricia (Tim) Taylor of Kewaskum, WI, and Janice (Michael) Moore of Walbridge, OH., thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, sisters, brother, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 2:00 to 9:00 in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio, 43551 (419-874-3133) where a Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will be recited on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home before the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St., Perrysburg, Ohio. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.
