Catherine Anne Hines, 79, of Deshler died Thursday, June 26, 2014.
She was born February 21, 1935 in Deshler to Londo & Elizabeth (Ehlen) Ziegler.
Cathy attended Deshler Elementary School and graduated in 1953 from St. Francis Convent High School,
Tiffin.
She entered St. Francis Convent and graduated in 1958 from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing,
Toledo.
She was a nurse at St. Francis Home for the Aged & St. Anthony’s Villa, Toledo from 1959-1969 and
at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay from 1969-1971.
On December 11, 1971 she married James Hines and moved to Toledo.
She worked at St. Charles Hospital, Toledo and moved back to Deshler in 1990 and worked at Oak Grove
Nursing Home.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler and Bavarian Club, Deshler.
She volunteered with Deshler Council of Churches; Deshler Food Pantry, Oak Grove Nursing Home Bingo and
Christmas Cheer Baskets.
Cathy was preceded in death by husband, James; parents; stepmother, Clara Ziegler and stepbrothers, Herb
and Bill Hiser.
She is survived by brothers, Francis Ziegler; Bernard (Rita) Ziegler; stepsister, Clarabelle Dunn;
stepbrothers, Joe Hiser; Jim (Dolly) Hiser and many special nieces, nephews and great nieces and
nephews.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler.
Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Custar.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Monday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, with Rosary Services at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Bridge Hospice or Deshler Food Pantry.
