Calvin D. Ribble, 82, of Portage, died Friday, September 14, 2012.
He was born July 24, 1930 in Toledo to Frank and Frances (Leininger) Ribble. He
married Doral Youngs on December 17, 1950 and she survives.
Mr. Ribble was a self-employed truck driver and also was a former Wood County Deputy
Sheriff for nine years. He was an avid coin collector and owned and enjoyed
antique automobiles.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Also surviving are daughters, Linda Ribble of Portage and Kathy Bomer of Grand
Rapids; grandchildren, Dan Fulweber, Craig Bomer, Ben Fulweber, Gavin and Mollie
Bomer; one brother, Tom Patton of Troy, Mi.; sisters, Doris Roudebush of
Trenton, Fl., Rose Botorff of Iron River, Mi. and Nancy Felix of Metamora, Oh.
Four great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by a son, Danny, infant daughter and brother, Steve.
Graveside services are Monday, September 17th at Weston Cemetery at 1 p.m. There is
no visitation. Military services will be conducted by the Wood County Honor
Guard.
