MooneyobitGuelph ON - Tom (Thomas) Lee Mooney, 79, also known as Coach Mooney, died Friday June 20th, 2014 at the Guelph General Hospital.
Tom was born in Portage, Ohio, on July 18th, 1934 to Agnes Gertrude (Scharf), of Portage, and Douglas Stewart Mooney, of Clare, Michigan.
He was predeceased by his true love Peggy Ann (Howell) from Dayton, Ohio, who passed away from breast cancer on Aug.18th, 2000. Their ashes will be placed together at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Guelph. He was also predeceased by his sister June Marie Bechstein and brother Norm Arthur Mooney. His eldest brother Douglas Eugene Mooney resides in Cleveland.
He is survived by two daughters; Kit (Kathryn) Ruth Mooney of Orton, ON, Robyn Lynn Mooney of White Rock, BC, and two sons; Tom (Thomas) Lee Mooney of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Doug (Douglas) Stewart Mooney of Stafford, Virginia, and 15 cherished grandchildren.

Catherine Anne Hines, 79, of Deshler died Thursday, June 26, 2014.
She was born February 21, 1935 in Deshler to Londo & Elizabeth (Ehlen) Ziegler.
Cathy attended Deshler Elementary School and graduated in 1953 from St. Francis Convent High School, Tiffin. She entered St. Francis Convent and graduated in 1958 from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, Toledo.
She was a nurse at St. Francis Home for the Aged & St. Anthony's Villa, Toledo from 1959-1969 and at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay from 1969-1971.
On December 11, 1971 she married James Hines and moved to Toledo. She worked at St. Charles Hospital, Toledo and moved back to Deshler in 1990 and worked at Oak Grove Nursing Home.

Former longtime resident of Bowling Green, Otis Block passed away on June 19, 2014 at Saint Anne Nursing Home in Seattle, Washington. He was 94.
Born July 30, 1919 in Akron, Ohio, he volunteered for the U.S. Army Air Corps before Pearl Harbor and was stationed at Selfridge Field, Michigan when he met his wife-to-be on a blind date. From 1942 to 1945 he served in Europe and North Africa.
After the war, he went to school at BGSU on the GI Bill and continued to live in Bowling Green until 1998.
Otis is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marguerite, a resident of Saint Anne Nursing Home. He is also survived by their three daughters all of Seattle, Cheryl (Vern) Rollin, Linda (Gary) Goodale, and Michele (Brian) O'Connor, as well as six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Pete-Haley-picNorwalk, Ohio - Viertelle E. "Pete" Haley, 82, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in his home.
He was born August 29, 1931 in Milton Center, Ohio to the late Victor Haley and Violet L. (Smith) Hoffman and came to Norwalk, Ohio in 1992 from Greenwich, Ohio.
Pete was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was a former Vice President of the Church Council.
He retired from General Motors in Mansfield, Ohio in 1992 with 35 years of service. Pete was also the founder of Haley Builders, and was a farmer.
He was a member of Eagles Aerie #711, Norwalk, Ohio, U.A.W. Local #549 of Mansfield, Ohio, and was a former charter member of the Willard Moose Lodge.

He was born May 29, 1945 to the late Walter and Madalene (Wilkinson) Mallett. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wanda (Markey) Mallett of Bowling Green and by two sons: Gene (Kelli Flood) Mallett of New Concord, Ohio and Dean (Kristi Richter) Mallett of Weston, Florida.
Also surviving are six precious grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one beloved sister, Melody Mallett, of Marietta, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Mallett in 1971, and by a brother, Terry Mallett, of Williamstown, West Virginia.
