Eugene "Gene" Schnitker, age 70, of Luckey, OH passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Otterbein Portage Valley Retirement Village, Pemberville, OH.
He was born on May 11, 1943 in Woodville, OH, to Norman and Ruth (Bringman) Schnitker.
For over 20 years Gene was a truck driver for Abke Trucking, Pemberville, OH. After retiring he worked at Tall Timbers Campground, Port Clinton, OH.
In his spare time he was an avid OSU Buckeye fan, enjoyed camping, driving his golf cart, being outside and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Gene was married to Kathy (Hansen) Schnitker for 31 years, and is also survived by children: Carol (Paul) Dodd of Luckey, Jody (Harry) Levan of Pine Grove, PA, Robert (Robyn) Schnitker of Pemberville, Jason (Lisa) Bolt of Mt. Sterling, OH, Dannelle (Rob) Sutton of Pemberville; grandchildren: Christopher Dodd, Curtis (Jennifer) Dodd, Courtney (Travis) Jones, Shannon (Mike) Miller, Emily (Marie) Miller, Kate (Chris) Miller, Elly Schnitker, Hannah Schnitker, Whitney (Jordan) Levan, Wade (Karissa) Levan, Cole Bolt, Hunter Bolt, Gage Bolt, Zach (Raquel) Bolt, Robbie Sutton, Allison Sutton, Hunter Sutton, Hannah Sutton, Piper Sutton; five great-grandchildren; brother: Ron (Barb) Schnitker of Luckey; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Norman and Ruth Schnitker.

MaienknechtGilbert Otto Maienknecht was born to Otto Maienknecht and Mollie Christofferson-Maienknecht in Chatham, Michigan on September 3, 1919.
From an early age, Gilbert had a love of reading and knew he wanted to be a newspaper reporter. He attended Michigan State University and graduated from Northern Michigan University. He earned Master's degrees in Journalism and Education from the University of Iowa. He obtained a doctorate in Education from Indiana University.
Gilbert served his country as an enlisted man, then promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in WWII, engaging in combat in several battles, including the D Day invasion of Normandy. He later served as an intake officer for war crimes prisoners at Nuremburg.

Elizabeth J. (Evans-Alexander) Conway, age 92, of Toledo, OH passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Lutheran Home at Toledo, Toledo, OH. Memorial services are planned for a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Marsh Funeral Home, Luckey, OH.

LoseyObitDaniel I. Losey, age 55, of Stony Ridge, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital Maumee, OH.
He was born on March 31, 1958 in Fremont, OH to Ralph and Shirley (Dierker) Losey Jr. On November 12, 1977 he married Jeanine Anderson in Toledo, OH and she survives.
Dan was a truck driver for the former Alpha Tube, Holland, OH now A.K. Tube, Walbridge, OH, retiring in 2007. He was a volunteer Fireman for Troy Township Volunteer Fire Department from 1990 to 2005.
Dan was a huge OSU fan and enjoyed playing sports, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Kenneth C. Kiefer, 63, of Bowling Green, Ohio died Thursday evening in Bowling Green.
He was born August 26, 1950 to Albert W. and Ruth A. (Beecher) Kiefer. He married Janet (Bonelli) Kiefer on October 17, 1970 and she survives of Bowling Green.
He is also survived by daughters, Dawn (Donald) Wilhelm, Cheryl (Marc) Robinett both of Bowling Green, brother, Ronald (Michelle) of Lindenhurst, NY, grandchildren, Marc Robinett Jr., David Meyer II, Brandon Robinett, Gauge Wilhelm, two step-grandchildren, Dylan and Brynn Wilhelm. 
Mr. Kiefer worked as a police officer in New York for 15 years and was the service manager for George Ballas Buick for 15 years in Toledo, Ohio.
Ken enjoyed working on cars, loved spending quality time with his grandchildren and loved his dog, Angel. He was also an avid Green Bay Packers football fan.
