SearleJ2Janice Lorraine (George) Searle, 88, of Perrysburg, died peacefully on April 6, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She passed into eternity the morning after her four sons sang her to sleep for the final time.
A woman of deep religious conviction, she lived her life as an example of Christian love and service.
She was born on a farm in rural Wood County on November 22, 1925 to Merritt and Bernice George.
While still in grade school she learned from her mother how to play the piano, a talent she later developed to a high degree of proficiency.
She graduated with honors from Jackson High School in Hoytville, Ohio in 1943, then graduated magna cum laude in 1947 from Bowling Green State University with the highest GPA in the College of Education. Even though she majored in Elementary Education, she was selected over piano majors to be piano accompanist for the top choirs at BGSU.

Messenger-Patty-obitPatty Messenger, 80, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Monday, April 7, 2014, from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
Patty was born on October 23, 1933 in Greentown, Indiana to Roy McAninch and Meredith (Lee) McAninch. She married Vincent Messenger on May 14, 1951, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1994.
Patty is survived by her mother Meredith, Bowling Green; brother Keith (Mary) McAninch, of Burlington, IN; and her children: daughter Cynthia, Bowling Green, and sons Michael (Liz) of Perrysburg, Steven (Jill), Timothy, Jeffrey (Nancy) and Todd, all of Bowling Green. She leaves 11 grandchildren: Mallory, Stephanie, Camille (Mike), Alex, Andy (Steve), Allyson, Kari, Anna, and Natalie (Jeff), Nick and Thomas (Todd); and four great-grandchildren: Reagan, Miles, Emerson (Allyson), and Brayden (Kari).
She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia (Larry) Rosselot, and father, Roy.

Stanley M. Irons II, 73, of Oregon, Ohio, formerly of Luckey, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014, surrounded by his family.
Stan was born on January 3, 1941 in Kane, Pennsylvania, to Stanley and Gertrude (McCawley) Irons.
He was a 1959 graduate of Waite High School and attended The Ohio State University.
On June 2, 1962 (6-2-62), he married Patricia Spitler.
Stan worked for Goodyear, Motor Wheel, and Johnson Controls as a supervisor, retiring in 2003.
For 52 years, Stan was a member of Paragon Masonic Lodge and a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Ohio since 1981.
He was a longtime member of the Wood County Amateur Radio Club. Stan was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family at his cottage in Ontario, Canada.

Frances Riker, 89, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Saturday April 5, 2014.
Frances was born in Wauseon, Ohio, to the late George and Sarah (Swartzen-druber) Geer. She married Karl Riker on April 21, 1957 and he preceded her in death on June 1, 1984.
Frances is survived by her children: Karen Harned of Tucson, Arizona, John (Carol) and George (Lesley) Riker of Bowling Green, Ohio; grandchildren: Carter Harned, Kimberly (Garrick) Walby, Robert (Stefani), Betsy, Kaitlin, Karlyn and Logan Riker; great-grandsons: Gabrial, William, Zachary and Callen; and a sister-in-law Boneita Ross and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings: Ralph, Lloyd and Paul Geer and Bernice Doane.
Fran obtained her Bachelor's in Education from Bowling Green State University in Social Studies. She then went on to teach in Bowling Green, Adrian and Lake Schools.
Fran and Karl enjoyed touring the country in their motor home, especially traveling out west.

Thomas J. "Tom" Sterling, 45, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away April 4, 2014.
Tom was born in 1968 in Bowling Green, Ohio, to Robert and Barbara (Cupp) Sterling.
Tom is survived by his mother and stepfather Barbara and Herman Kiel of Cygnet; brother, Jeff (Lori) Sterling of Weston; half brothers, John Sterling of North Baltimore and Kasey Sterling of Cygnet; stepbrothers, Mike Kiel of Perrysburg and Frank Kiel of Tennessee; nephew, Kyle (Kelly) Sterling and niece, Sara (Jason) Zimmerman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sterling and nephew, Troy Sterling.
Tom was a graduate of Elmwood High School and received an Associate's Degree in Business from Owens Community College and also attended Bowling Green State University, where he played in the Falcon Marching Band.
Tom was a former purchasing agent for Honda of America in Marysville.
He was a member of Weston Masonic Lodge #560 F&AM.
