PEMBERVILLE - Blanche E. (Ruch) Colwell, 90, of Pemberville, died Friday (May 29, 2009) at Otterbein-Portage Valley Nursing Home.
She taught languages and physical education at Deshler High School.
Mrs. Colwell was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville.
She enjoyed visiting with her former students at reunions, as well as gardening, working with leather, decoupage, roller skating and biking.
She was a graduate of Bowling Green State University.
Born Sept. 3, 1918 in Luckey to Adam and Louise (Hotmer) Ruch, she married Robert A. Colwell, and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert G. and James D., four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters.
There will be no visitation and no funeral. Burial will be private at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Memorials may be made to the church or Wood County Humane Society.
Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, Toledo.
