Betty Louise Zernhel, 85, of Deshler, Ohio died Tuesday morning, June 18, 2013 at Oak Grove Healthcare Center, Deshler.
She was born September 21, 1927 in Bartlow Township, Henry County, Ohio to the late Ralph and Z. Blanche (Rader) Sager. On November 2, 1946 she married Herman Dan Zernhel in Angola, Indiana and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2006.
Betty was a Deshler High School graduate and was a homemaker, farm wife, and worked at the former Dekalb Hybrids, Deshler, and Wink's Ceramics, Deshler.
She was a member of Hoytville United Methodist Church and helped operate with the Crossroads Church Newspaper. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.
She is survived by her children, Daniel (Colleen) Zernhel; Julie (Rick) Bolyard; Lisa (Randy) Petersen; grandchildren, Aaron May (Steph Wickman); Nick May; Abby (Joe) Phillips; Brittany (Brian) King; Clint Zernhel; Duane Romick; great grandchildren, Saige and Sutten Phillips; Brooklyn and Bethany King; Brie and Talon May; and sister, Geraldine Rettig.
She was also preceded in death by sister, Frona "Dot" Miley and brothers, George Sager and Ernest "Ernie" Sager.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, with Dr. Hugh Bowland officiating. Graveside services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m., Thursday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Hoytville United Methodist Church.
