Obituary-Betty-HaasBetty J. Haas, 88, of Bowling Green, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013.
Betty was born in Bay City, Michigan to the late Thomas and Myrtle (Berry) Roach. She married Dale Haas on November 28, 1946 in the Bowling Green Presbyterian Church and he survives in Bowling Green.
Also surviving are her three sons: David (Dorothy) Haas of Waterville, Douglas (Karen) Haas of Bowling Green and Duane Haas of Perrysburg; grandchildren: Cindy, Julie, Pam, Melissa, Charles, Dawn, Hunter and Tyler and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Robert.
Betty worked in the Wood County Courthouse for the Clerk of Courts starting in 1945 and took 10 years off to raise her three sons. Betty served as the Clerk of Courts for Wood County from 1980 until her retirement in 1988.
Betty was a member of the Custar United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Women's Club, the Easy Goers Camper Club and the Ohio Clerks of Courts Association.
Betty and Dale enjoyed traveling in their motor home. They traveled to the lower 48 states and enjoyed spending their winters in Texas. Betty and Dale also enjoyed going to flea markets. Betty was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren.
Visitation for Betty will be on Thursday October 24, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster St., Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Betty's funeral service will be on Friday October 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.. Burial will follow in the Milton Township Cemetery.
