FruthobitBernadine C. Fruth, 88, of Fostoria, and formerly of Risingsun, passed away Monday, April 26, 2010 at Independence House in Fostoria.
She was born July 29, 1921 in Mercer County, Ohio, to the late Amos and Thelma (Kittle) Moser. She married Theodore W. "Ted" Fruth on December 26, 1941 in Napoleon, Ohio, and he preceded her in death October 1, 2004.
Surviving are two daughters, Lynn (Wayne) St. Clair, Bradner, and Louan (Rick) Whetsel, Risingsun; seven grandchildren, Tammy Seipel, Teri Meister, Ted St. Clair, Desia Heckathorn, Darci Graber, Candi Whetsel, and Ashley Whetsel; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Juanita Robinette, Fremont.
Bernadine was co-owner of the Kozy Korner Store in Risingsun.
She was a charter member of the Risingsun Historical Society and was on the Risingsun City Council for seven years. She was also a member of the ladies Auxiliary for the Risingsun Fire Department.
Bernadine was a 1939 graduate of Fostoria High School.
She was a real estate agent and was secretary/treasurer of the Fostoria Board of Realtors.
She enjoyed traveling, camping, and painting.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 10 a.m. to noon at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, where a memorial service will take place at noon. Private burial will take place at Fountain Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are requested to Risingsun Community Park.
