Barbara A. Tyson, age 79, of Portage, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday (February 24, 2014).
She was born on July 31, 1934 in Risingsun, Ohio, to the late Boyd H. and Willina (Wiser) Burns. Barb
married Kenneth E. Tyson on April 8, 1954.
Surviving Barb is her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Kenneth; sons, Kenneth E. Tyson Jr., of Phoenix,
Arizona, Patrick (Pamela) Tyson of Wayne, Ohio; daughters, Carol (Neil) Wagner of Wayne, Ohio, Cheryl
Tyson of Perrysburg, Ohio; brother, Paul Burns of Sandusky, Ohio; sister, Mary Jo (Larry) Jay of
Fremont, Ohio; grandchildren, Kevin (Emily) Tyson of Phoeniz, Arizona, Andy (Kelly) Wagner of Bowling
Green, Ohio, Aaron (Amy) Tyson of Bowling Green, Ohio, Stephanie Wagner of Columbus, Ohio, Kelly (Adam)
Ramey of Oak Hill, Ohio, Al Tyson of Bowling Green, Ohio, Elizabeth (Mitchell) Lee of Bowling Green,
Ohio, Adam Tyson of Wayne, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lily, and Ben Wagner; special family
friends, Deb (Doug) Reynolds of Portage, Ohio, and Nancy Orel of Perrysburg, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Willina, and brother, Robert Burns.
Barb was a 1952 graduate of Montgomery Local. She was a homemaker for her family for many years.
She was a member of the Jerry City Bibs to Beaus OCCL for 53 years and the Wayne United Methodist Church.
Barb was also a member of the Down To Earth Garden Club and the Elmwood Athletic Boosters.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday (February 27, 2014) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne,
Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday (February 28, 2014) at 11 a.m. with
Father Mark Davis officiating.
Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Wayne, Ohio.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Aloysius’ Building Fund.
