275Anne Marie Sheeks, age 71, passed away at 10:59 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green.
Anne was born on July 31, 1938 to the late Gilbert and Celesta (Baker) Pelton in Cygnet, Ohio.
Anne graduated from Bloomdale High School and married Franklin Bateson, they later divorced. Anne married Jay Sheeks on December 7, 1963; they combined and raised their family and the children surviving are: Margaret (Gary) Schooner, Linda (Doug) Oakes, Ronnie (Terri) Sheeks, Debbie Sheeks, Randy (Terrill) Sheeks, Rodney (June) Sheeks, Tom (Carol) Bateson, and Larry (Carol) Bateson. She is also survived by a brother: Louie (Jean) Pelton; sister-in-law: Sue Pelton; and two sisters: Donna (Ken) Barker and Ruthie (Dan) Cassidy.
Anne was preceded in death by a son: Roger Sheeks; a brother: Richard Pelton; and sister: Jo Weiker.
Anne and Jay enjoyed 46 years of marriage, as they enjoyed their 25 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Anne worked at RCA for 40 years and in retirement, she enjoyed taking care of her home, being outside working with her flowers and yard, and especially taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anne was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She always seemed to find a way to solve whatever came down life's way by a gentle hand and good advice.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Adams and Bishop David McDuff officiating. Memorials can be made to the donors' choice in her memory.
