At St. John's Lutheran Church he served as a historian and church councilman. He wrote a book on the church's history and made a display for the church. Since he enjoyed history he helped complete the School Book "Alumni Lake Walbridge 1911-1989 and the book "A History of Lake Twp. Wood County, Ohio."
