Youth drowns near Grand Rapids PDF Print E-mail

GRAND RAPIDS — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the Friday night drowning of a 9-year-old boy near Grand Rapids.
Deputies responded at about 9:15 p.m. to a location in the 22000-block of West Poe Road, along with Grand Rapids fire and rescue and Northwest 190 Ambulance, according to a news release. The sheriff’s office dive team was also dispatched.
The boy was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital at about 10:30 p.m.
