|WSOS commission to name new board member|

A public meeting to elect one low-income representative to the Board of Directors of WSOS Community Action Commission from Wood County serves will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Wood County Committee on Aging, 305 N. Main St., Bowling Green.
This is a special meeting to replace Cindy Downey of Bowling Green who resigned her seat on the board earlier this year. Downey had been elected in November 2012.
Transportation, childcare, and a meal will be provided for those who attend the meeting. Those who plan to attend the meeting should make a reservation by calling 1-800-775-9767 or (419) 334-8911. Please indicate if a need for transportation and/or childcare when making a reservation.
Each of the four counties that WSOS serves - Wood, Sandusky, Ottawa, and Seneca counties - has two low-income representatives on the board of directors. Other representatives who make up the WSOS Board of Directors include two representatives from the public sector and two representatives from various community interest groups in each county. Other Wood County representatives on the board include Carmen Beltran, Kate Somerfeld, Dean King, Mel Browning, and Al Fosnaugh.
There are 24 members on the board, six from each county, and meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the offices located at 109 S. Front St., Fremont. Each meeting is open to the public.
