Individuals who receive services through Wood Lane as well as their families are invited to Family Fun Day on Saturday.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wood Lane Industries.
Those attending are invited to hear humorist Kay Frances speak about "The Funny Thing About Stress." Frances has presented and performed in 38 states and Canada.
Her audiences have ranged from school groups to churches as well as businesses, universities, and corporations.
According to Frances' Web site, "Kay's humor combined with her expertise in stress management not only offers useful information,
but shows folks a rollicking good time in the process. It's clean, energetic 'humor-with-a-message' at its funniest."
She will speak at 11 a.m., noon, and 1 p.m.
In addition to the featured speaker and activities, the day will also give families an opportunity to personally talk with seventeen Wood County providers and the services they have to offer for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Sponsors of the event include Dignified Support Services, REM Ohio, Harbor, ActiveStyle, Wood Lane Residential Services Inc., Renewed Hope Day Services and Vocational Program, Fox Run, and Wood Lane/Wood County Board of DD.
Additional information is posted on Wood Lane's Web site and Facebook pages www.woodlane.us and www.facebook.com/Wood.Lane.Works.
