ROSSFORD – A Toledo woman is facing drug charges after an apparent overdose in her car in the city on
Wednesday.
Rossford Police were called to the PetSmart location, 27161 Crossroads Parkway, at approximately 3:30
p.m. on report of the incident.
Debra May Bailey, 31, had been holding a sign reading "Family in Need of Help" outside prior to
the incident.
However, she later passed out behind the wheel of her car in the parking lot of the business, and
bystanders called police as her car moved forward about 60 feet when her foot slipped off the brake
pedal.
Officers called Rossford Fire-Rescue, who transported Bailey to the hospital and treated her for an
overdose of heroin.
Officers found needles, a spoon, heroin, pills, and other prescription medication.
Some of the evidence was found inside of a Bible that she had inside her car. She was also found to be in
possession of $900.
Bailey was charged with two misdemeanor counts of drug abuse, one felony count of drug abuse and
possession of drug instruments.
Perrysburg Township Police assisted Rossford in the incident.
The township’s Facebook page stated "we are also posting this so our citizens will be aware who you
are giving money to. These people stand on the side of the road and scam you out of money to feed their
drug habit not their family."
