The Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board held its first meeting following the loss of one of its long-time members.
The board met May 20 in the absence of Dave Miller, who died May 18 in York, Pa., after he became ill while on vacation.
Board chair Judy Ennis commended Miller for being a champion of the greater good and said his concern for those with substance abuse and mental health issues will be greatly missed.
"We will keep the legacy of Dave Miller going," Ennis said.
Board members then held a moment of silence in Miller's memory.
In other business, the board:
• renewed a two-year lease agreement with Haskins Landing for the board's administrative offices at 745 Haskins Road, for $2,900 per month. The administrative offices have been housed at Haskins Landing for more than 20 years.
• agreed to fund up to $23,148 for the Children's Resource Center to be able to obtain technical assistance for data management and reporting with the agency's new electronic health records system.
