The water slide at the Bowling Green City Pool and Water Park was open for business Tuesday.
Parks and Recreation Director Michelle Grigore confirmed before Tuesday's parks board meeting that repairs to the slide, which had been closed since Sunday, were completed and the slide opened by 2:30 p.m.
The closure had stemmed from issues with the installation of the slide by Astro Pools. Some seams on the slide were not even, and a special gel was improperly put on the seams.
Astro Pools employees fixed the problems.
A representative of the slide's manufacturer, WhiteWater, certified the repairs Tuesday afternoon.
In other business, the board:
‚Äʬ†¬† ¬†Heard that the new pool has had approximately 4,000 daily users since its opening earlier this month. Additionally, 2,164 season passes have been sold, 662 more than the same period last year. Revenue for the pool is up $20,000 over the same period last year as well.
"It's been very popular," said Grigore.
‚Äʬ†¬† ¬†Discussed the possibility of a "grandparents" pool pass. The pass, suggested by a resident, would allow up to six related people, not living in the same address, season access to the pool for $130, a price comparable to a family pass.
Currently, a "family pass" is for related individuals living at the same address. It was decided to further consider the concept at next month's meeting, in hopes of further public input.
Grigore said comments on the matter could be sent to her.
‚Äʬ†¬† ¬†Welcomed Cal Hover as a new member to the board.
