By allegedly stabbing a man Saturday, a Walbridge man triggered a community control violation in a case dating back to 2012.
Carl M. Braden, 21, of Walbridge, was arrested Saturday and charged with felonious assault after he allegedly stabbed Rory Sheeks once in the abdomen and multiple times in the back before fleeing the scene on foot.
The assault charges means Braden violated his community control sanctions for underage alcohol conviction in March 2012. In that case, he also was charged with assault, but that charge was dismissed.
His probation ran through 2014.
He will face the additional charge at his preliminary hearing, set Monday at 9 a.m.
Sheeks, 23, of Bowling Green, remained in serious condition Friday at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
