Victim identified in morning I-75 crash

NORTH BALTIMORE – The name of a man killed in a crash early Tuesday on Interstate 75 north of the village
has been released.
Stephen W. Humphries, 22, Nitro, W.V., was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, near the 169
milepost in Bloom Township.
The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol reports that at 1:50 a.m. a semi tractor-trailer driven
by Kenneth Mossbarger, Tipp City, was stopped northbound on I-75 for a traffic crash, when Humphries
failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead and struck Mossbarger’s vehicle from behind.
Humphries’ passenger, Jessica King, Kahawha, W.V., was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo,
where she was listed in critical condition. Mossbarger was not hurt.
I-75 as shut down for approximately two hours as a result of the incident.
The crash remains under investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol or drug use was a factor.
