Two reappointed to park board

Robert Callecod and Robert Hawker have been reappointed to positions on the Wood County Park
District Board of Commissioners.Both appointments are for three year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2014.Hawker was
appointed to the park district board in March 2013 to fill the remainder of the term formerly occupied by
Frank McLaughlin, who resigned in February 2013. This unexpired term will run through Dec. 31, 2013. In
addition to his recent service on the board, Hawker has been actively involved with the Friends of the Wood
County Parks, the YMCA/JCC of Greater Toledo, Junior Achievement and the Perrysburg Symphony Association. He
also has a wide variety of business experience.Callecod was initially on the Wood County Park District Board
in 1987-88 and played a significant role in developments which ultimately led to the creation of today’s
independent countywide Wood County Park District. Callecod served as the director of the Department of Parks
and Recreation for the City of Bowling for 16 years, retiring in 2005. He has served on a variety of boards
and committees serving organizations such as, among others, the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation
Foundation, the Wood County Special Olympics, and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. He has also been a
long-standing member of the Friends of Wood County Parks.Wood County Probate and Juvenile Court Judge David
Woessner made the appointments.The other members of the Wood County Park District are Mary
McCormick-Krueger, John Calderonello and Joe Long.
