Two people were injured following separate accidents reported in Wood County Monday.
At 6:12 a.m. on U.S. 20 just west of Ohio 163, Keith Blakely, Norwalk, driving a 2007 flatbed tractor trailer, was westbound when he drove off the right side of the snow-covered roadway, and the trailer struck a utility pole.
The vehicle then continued through a ditch, rolling over and coming to rest on its passenger side.
Blakely was taken to St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, by Troy Township EMS with non-incapacitating injuries. He reportedly crawled from the vehicle after the crash.
A fuel leak was reported following the incident and the Environmental Protection Agency was notified.
Blakely was cited for failure to control.
At 8:53 a.m. at 18121 Brim Road, in Plain Township, Latasha Thornton, Bowling Green, driving a 2003 Chevy Cavalier, was southbound when she drove off the right side of the road, attempted to correct herself, and then lost control on the ice and snow-covered roadway.
She then drove off the left side of the road into a ditch.
Thornton reported possible injuries and was transported from the scene by Mid-County 120 EMS.
Information on where she was taken was unavailable as the crash report was incomplete.
Thornton's three passengers were not injured.
