Two people injured in crash near Bradner (7-25-14)

BRADNER – Two people were hurt in a crash late Monday north of the village on the Wood-Sandusky County
line.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 11:50 p.m. Matthew Shreffler, Helena, was southbound on
U.S. 23, north of U.S. 6, and failed to see that a vehicle driven by Kevin Thompson, Toledo, was stopped
in a work zone as directed by a flagger with a stop sign.
Shreffler’s vehicle subsequently struck Thompson’s in the rear.
Shreffler’s passengers, Tayla Johnson and 5-year-old old Molly Shreffler, both of Helena, were taken to
Wood County Hospital by Pemberville EMS. Johnson sustained non-incapacitating injuries, while Molly
Shreffler was transported with possible injuries.
Matthew Shreffler was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
