Two injured Sunday in car/train crash PDF Print E-mail

CUSTAR - Two men were injured in a collision with a CSX train on Ohio 281 Sunday night.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office reports that at 9:20 p.m. Gabriel Magallenas, Bowling Green, was eastbound on Route 281 in a 1997 Chevy Lumina when he failed to yield for activated railroad crossing flashers and was struck by a southbound CSX train in the driver's side.
The train was traveling at 48 miles per hour.
Magallenas sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was transported by Weston EMS to the Wood County Hospital. He was later taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
Information on his status was not immediately available this morning.
His passenger, Raul Ramirez, Bowling Green, sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was also taken to Wood County Hospital by Weston EMS.
Magallenas was cited for driving through a railroad crossing.
