Two people were injured in separate crashes occurring June 3 in the city.
The first was at 7:57 a.m. at Fairview Avenue and West Poe Road.
BG Police report that Paige Charlton-Dennis, BG, a bicyclist, and Connie Chandler, Risingsun, were both
northbound on Fairview at West Poe when Chandler started to pass Charlton-Dennis.
Charlton-Dennis started to turn left without signalling and was struck by the right side of Chandler’s
vehicle.
Charlton-Dennis, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from her bike.
She was taken to Wood County Hospital by Bowling Green Fire/EMS with non-incapacitating injuries.
Chandler was cited for improper passing.
At 10:55 a.m. at West Gypsy Lane Road and South Maple Street, Aaron Diebert, Toledo, was southbound and
had a stop sign when he reportedly peeled his tires and turned left onto West Gypsy Lane.
His tires reportedly continued to peel, with the vehicle in the westbound lane of travel instead of the
eastbound.
Anna Olivarez-Delgado, BG, who was westbound on West Gypsy Lane, reportedly activated her brakes and horn
due to Diebert’s vehicle, which was oncoming. She swerved to miss Diebert and was struck by his vehicle
in the right front portion.
Diebert was taken to the hospital by BG Fire/EMS with non-incapacitating injuries and was cited for
reckless operation.
