PERRYSBURG - Two people were injured in separate accidents taking place over the weekend in the city.
On Saturday at 8:34 p.m., James Reiter, Perrysburg, was backing out of an angled parking spot at 627 W. South Boundary St. when he struck his wife, Barbara Reiter, who was standing behind the vehicle assisting him in backing up.
Barbara Reiter reportedly looked away while her husband continued to reverse.
She reported possible injuries and was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee, by Perrysburg EMS.
On Sunday at 6:24 p.m., Danielle Pomeroy, Toledo, was stopped at the traffic signal at U.S. 20 and Ohio 199, with Charles Lanham, Gigharbor, Wash., behind her.
Rachel Smith, Millbury, driving a third vehicle, believed the light to be green, moved forward, then slammed on her brakes, striking Lanham's vehicle in the rear. Lanham's vehicle then struck Pomeroy's.
Pomeroy was taken to St. Luke's Hospital by Perrysburg EMS with non-incapacitating injuries. Neither her passengers, nor Lanham or his passenger, reported injury.
Smith reported possible injuries, but was not taken to a hospital.
She was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
