LUCKEY - Troy-Webster American Legion Auxiliary Unit 240 has installed new officers for the coming year.
The June 5 installation meeting began with a salad and dessert buffet, provided by the unit Past Presidents. Becky Dippman and granddaughter Jordan Durban decorated the tables.
Outgoing President Rosemarie Heilman opened the meeting and Maxine Cross acted as chaplain.  The Star Spangled Banner was sung, with pianist Marsha Nelson.
A memorial service was held for five deceased members of the unit: Dorothy Hankey, Elaine Moenter, Mary Jane Parker, Mary McClain and Kathryn Romaker.
Installation of new officers followed, with Dippman acting as installing officer.  She installed her mother, Betty Briggs, as president; Shirley Davis as first vice president; Karen Snyder, second vice president; Ellen Bechstein, secretary; Donna Rolf, who is beginning her 44th year as treasurer; and Gerry Levorchick, sergeant-at-arms.
Rolf was specially recognized for her length of service.
Ruth Peters acted as sergeant-at-arms and Dorothy Daman was acting chaplain.
Kathryn Shaffer installed the Past Presidents officers: Dippman, chairman; Peters, co-chairman; and Briggs, secretary-treasurer.
Also during the meeting, Davis presented information about the Sandpiper cruise, as a money-making project.
The auxiliary's next event was a July 10 potluck dinner, held jointly with the legion members. Delegates who attended Buckeye Boys and Girls State, along with their parents, were guests. After the meal, the delegates each shared their experience at Buckeye State.
