Trail maintenance, CPR class offered at parks

• Bluebird Trail Maintenance, 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, W.W. Knight Nature Preserve, 29530 White Road,
Perrysburg – Help keep the trails open for bluebird monitors. Prune, lop and pull woody and invasive
species around nest boxes. Gloves and tools will be provided. Thorny plants and poison ivy may be
encountered.
• Native Nursery Night, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Reuthinger Preserve, 30730 Oregon Road, Perrysburg –
Volunteers at the Native Plant Nursery and Greenhouse may be asked to plant, water, weed and collect
seed. Dress to work outdoors and bring gloves if you have them.
• CPR at the Park, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. July 26, W.W. Knight Nature Preserve: Friends’ Green
Room, 29530 White Road, Perrysburg – Take the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver CPR/AED course,
taught by certified park district staff. The course teaches adult, child and infant CPR and AED use, as
well as how to relieve choking. Maximum of 12 students, age 14 and up, per session. Cost is $5.
• Family Fishing Night, 7 to 8 p.m. July 27, W.W. Knight Nature Preserve, 29530 White Road, Perrysburg –
A ranger will be on hand to help first-time fishermen with loaner poles and worms. Children must have
adult supervision; adults must be accompanied by a child to fish.
• Sensory Garden Exploration, 7 to 8 p.m. July 29, W.W. Knight Nature Preserve, 29530 White Road,
Perrysburg – Visit the garden to enjoy a sensory smorgasbord. There are plants to engage all senses, and
even some to eat.
• Native Nursery Night, 6 to 8 p.m. July 31, Reuthinger Preserve, 30730 Oregon Road, Perrysburg –
Volunteers at the Native Plant Nursery and Greenhouse may be asked to plant, water, weed and collect
seed. Dress to work outdoors and bring gloves if you have them.
