Three people were taken to Wood County Hospital following two separate accidents Monday.
At 7:10 p.m., on Sugar Ridge Road, just west of Lemoyne Road, Landon Richards, Pemberville, was westbound when he failed to maintain a safe stopping distance behind a vehicle driven by Zachariah Linhart, Pemberville.
Richards's vehicle struck Linhart's in the rear. Both vehicles then came to rest off the road southeast of the intersection with Lemoyne Road.
Richards reported possible injuries and was taken to the hospital by Pemberville EMS. His passenger, Hanna Keiser, Pemberville, sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was also transported by Pemberville EMS.
Linhart and his passenger were not injured.
Richards was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Just after 10:50 p.m., on Mercer Road near Newton Road, Mark Cairl, Bowling Green, was northbound when he drove off the east side of the road and struck a utility pole, breaking it in half. The vehicle then turned onto its side.
Power was briefly knocked out to surrounding homes.
Cairl was extricated from the vehicle by non-mechanical means and taken to the hospital by Mid-County 120 EMS with incapacitating injuries.
He was cited for OVI and failure to control.
