NORTHWOOD - Charges were filed against three city residents Monday after they abandoned a truck containing stolen scrap metal at a business.
Northwood Police responded to a business in the 200 block of East Andrus Road on the report of a black truck which had been driven onto the property and apparently abandoned after it became stuck in the mud.
According to a report, numerous pieces of scrap metal were found in the bed of the truck. The scrap, valued at $150, was confirmed as having been taken from the 100 block of East Andrus Road; a fence at that location was also cut.
The vehicle was towed and the police were contacted by the suspects, who wanted the truck back.
Subsequently charged in the incident were Kyle Garrison, 41, Northwood, for misdemeanor counts of criminal trespassing, criminal damaging, and petty theft; Victoria Bartlett, 26, Northwood, also for misdemeanor trespassing, damaging, and theft, as well as a driver's license violation; and Hilerie Garrison, 40, Northwood, for misdemeanor trespass.
