NORTHWOOD - Police officers responded to two theft reports in the city on Monday.
In the 3000 block of Woodville Road, a 49-year-old Curtice man reported the theft of a laptop computer from his vehicle.
The man stated that around 8:15 a.m. he had parked at a gas station in the area and went inside for coffee. The computer was sitting on the seat of the truck.
Upon returning to the vehicle the device, a Hewlett-Packard laptop valued at $1,000, was gone.
Police made an arrest in a later shoplifting case at a store in the 2000 block of Woodville Road.
Employees called police to report a black female in a pink shirt and white shorts that had just fled the store.
A woman matching the description was located by police. Merchandise, later identified by employees as the stolen items, was discovered in her purse.
The woman, identified as Synthia Anderson, 53, Toledo, was arrested for theft, and for two active warrants out of Maumee Police for theft and contempt of court.
