Tennessee man held after Perrysburg Township crash PDF Print E-mail

LIME CITY – A Tennessee man was arrested Thursday after he crashed a stolen vehicle into a tree in Perrysburg Township.
Perrysburg Township Police report that at 11:42 a.m. units responded to the report of a vehicle driving recklessly in the 27000 block of Oakmead Drive, off of Fremont Pike. The vehicle crashed into a tree and the driver, identified as Dustin L. Garcia, 23, Strawplaines, Tenn., attempted to flee the scene but was held by bystanders until police units arrived.
After the arrival of officers, Garcia was taken into protective custody and transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, by Perrysburg Township EMS for injuries sustained in the crash.
The vehicle was later determined to have been stolen out of Knoxville, Tenn.
Charges of receiving stolen property, along with traffic violations including operating a vehicle while under the influence, are pending upon Garcia’s release from the hospital.
