Three Fostoria youths – two of whom are on the high school football team – are facing felony assault charges after they reportedly beat two men "for no apparent reason" in Bowling Green early Sunday.
According to Bowling Green Police Chief Brad Connor, the incident, occurring in the 800 block of Sixth Street, was reported at 4:52 a.m.
Two men were walking in the area at that time when the three boys jumped out of a white Chevy Blazer "and just started to assault them for no apparent reason."
They boys reportedly beat the two men with their fists, and then turned to kicking them when their victims had fallen to the ground.
The assailants then got back in the vehicle and drove off. They were later located by Bowling Green State University police. The vehicle reportedly belonged to one of the boys' mothers.
The two victims were taken to Wood County Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
All of the boys, identified as Miguel Arana, 17; Dominique Fuller, 16; and Rolando Silva, 16, were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center, and charged with one count each of felonious assault.
Fuller, a junior, is listed as being a quarterback and cornerback on the Fostoria High School team; Silva, a sophomore, is listed as being a running back and linebacker.
Bowling Green High School played Fostoria in football Friday night.
