Storms leave some without power PDF Print E-mail

Storms Thursday evening downed power lines and knocked over trees in the northern and eastern portions of the county, leaving some residents without power this morning.
In the Pemberville area, storms took down power lines along Ohio 105 just before 7 p.m.
The Ohio Department of Transportation closed a portion of Route 105 between Ohio 199 and U.S. 23 due to the issue just after 7:30 p.m. The road was reopened shortly after 8 this morning.
According to a First Energy outage map, as many as 500 people were still reported without power this morning in the area of Aufderstrasse Road and Scotch Ridge Road, east of Scotch Ridge.
On Nelson Road at Carter Road, just northeast of Bowling Green, a vehicle driven by Bowling Green resident Tyler Strow reportedly struck a tree that had fallen across the roadway Thursday at 10 p.m. No injuries were reported.
A fire due to a tree falling on a power line was also reported in the area of Carter Road and Dowling Road.
Perrysburg Police reported that there were trees or large limbs down on some roadways in the city as well, including in the area of Louisiana Avenue and Sixth Street. A portion of Sixth Street was closed briefly Thursday night, according to a dispatcher, due to a fallen branch.
A few power outages were additionally reported in Perrysburg this morning between Sandusky Street and Maple Street.
Bowling Green electric officials reported no problems, noting that most of the storm was outside the service area.
